Test Drive: 2014 Acura ILX Dynamic

In my mind, the Acura entry level car should retain some of the positive traits of the other Honda cars while keeping it business outside. Sort of like a mullet.

Have they succeeded?

If I didn’t recognise the face and the voice, I would have thought that this is LOW budgeted (C$100,0000) COMMERCIAL commissioned by Honda??? the depth of knowledge, the presentation and details of what a consumer would look for etc are all professional! most important of all, it was fun watching it without the urge to switch to something else!

I’ll have some questions for you on electric cars in due course, or can you do a comparison for what’s available in Canada or it is not the mainstream still?

Good job and congratulation on this techie gig!

Haha thank you Mr. Lui for your very kind comments. I have been working hard to steadily improve the quality of the videos as I go. Stay tuned! I will have more/better stuff as I go.

I actually have an electric/plug-in hybrid review on the way as well. Feel free to email me if you have any further questions!

I own a 2014 ILX and I’d like to have more power in my next car. What would be your suggestions for the same kind of car with more HP? IS 250 ?

      Hi Pierre-Olivier!

Thanks for watching and for commenting, and apologies for the delayed response.

I guess the answer to that question really depends on your budget, your practicality needs, and exactly how MUCH more power you are looking for. If you really want a car with more power, the IS250 may not be the answer since it has similar hp figures as the ILX. If you like the look of the IS, then the 350 may be the way to go since it has a larger engine. A BMW 335, Mercedes C350, Audi A4 2.0T, Infiniti Q50 are all alternatives that would tick the horsepower box.

Anyway, hope that helps! Let me know if you have more details and I can help narrow it down for you.
